Workshop on Inovations and EU support mechanisms for small and medium-sized enterprises held at the SEI Center

A workshop dedicated to innovations, prototype development, and available EU support mechanisms for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) was held at the premises of the SEI Center on Friday, February 7, 2026. The workshop was organized by the Digital Innovation Laboratory Brčko, established within the Network of Innovation Laboratories, which operates as part of the InnoXcellerate project.

The presentation was delivered by Aleksandar Pajkanović, PhD in Electrical Engineering, who presented opportunities for financing the development of up to ten prototypes for SMEs, as well as available capacities for plastic recycling, 3D modeling, laser processing, and mechanical machining. Special emphasis was placed on the rapidly growing trends in artificial intelligence development and web design.

Participants were also introduced to the EU voucher scheme Boot 2.0, which enables the implementation of projects worth up to EUR 5,000 with a 10% co-financing requirement or up to EUR 15,000 with a 20% co-financing requirement, while the remaining funds are provided through European Union financing.

It was concluded that cooperation between SEI Center users, incubator participants, and the Network of Innovation Laboratories should be further strengthened. Additionally, the inclusion of children and young people in educational activities related to plastic recycling and modern technologies was highlighted, as well as the involvement of SEI Center users in programs focused on the utilization of recycled plastic.
