Visit of the Council of Europe Representatives to the SEI Center

As part of the visit of the Council of Europe representatives to the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a visit to the SEI Center was organized yesterday, during which guests had the opportunity to become more closely acquainted with the work of the Center, its activities, and future development plans.

The attendees, including representatives of the Department for Professional and Administrative Affairs, were welcomed by Zlatan Musić, Head of the Project Implementation Unit at the Development and Guarantee Fund of the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina (DGFBD). Through a brief tour and presentation, he introduced the guests to the premises and services provided by the SEI Center and the RGFBD. On this occasion, among other topics, the project “Socio Economic Inclusion in the Brčko District (SEI)” was presented. The project is funded by the Government of the Czech Republic and implemented by the DGFBD in cooperation with CARE International Balkans.

Željko Novaković, Entrepreneurship Expert at the SEI Center, presented the work of the Center, highlighting the results achieved over the past two years as well as plans for the third year of project implementation. Special emphasis was placed on the innovative approach of the Center and its potential to become a model of good practice applicable throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider region.

The representatives of the Council of Europe also expressed great interest in the strong cooperation between the SEI Center and the local authorities, as well as the significant potential for the Center to become an extension of the Youth Center, with a particular focus on the development of youth entrepreneurship.

Council of Europe representatives Gordana Berjan and Georges Metz expressed their satisfaction with the opportunity to become familiar with the work of the SEI Center and the overall activities of the DGFBD. They also presented a number of recommendations on how existing activities could be further improved and more closely linked with the local administration. During their presentation, they shared examples of similar centers from European Union countries, which could serve as valuable models for enhancing the work of the SEI Center and the Youth Center of the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It was concluded that this visit represents only the first in a series of planned visits by Council of Europe representatives to the SEI Center in Brčko. Positive examples of good practice and potential opportunities for cooperation will be taken into consideration in the future. It was also emphasized that the SEI Center will be recommended for cooperation with other relevant organizations and institutions whenever opportunities arise.
