“Visible to the System”: Association “Vjera & nada” starts forming a Registry of persons with disabilities
Actively acting as a partner civil society organization within the project Socio-Economic Inclusion in the Brčko District of BiH, funded by the Government of the Czech Republic, the Citizens’ Association “Vjera & nada” – which brings together people suffering from neuromuscular diseases, cerebral palsy and infantile paralysis – is working intensively on forming a registry, or database, of all persons with disabilities.
In this regard, during the current month, representatives of the association held a meeting with representatives of all relevant institutions of the Brčko District that deal with this issue. In addition, opinions were additionally exchanged in a conversation with the Head of the Department for Health and Other Services of the Government of the Brčko District of BiH, Zoran Bulatović.
The topic of the meeting was the creation of this database, as part of the project “Visible to the System”, which is being implemented with the support of the Czech Development Agency in cooperation with Care International and the Development Guarantee Fund of the Brčko District of BiH.
“The head of the relevant Department has expressed his readiness to provide all technical assistance in the direction, first of all, of the registry of persons with disabilities gathered by our association. It is also our obligation to specify through a formal written request in which segments we expect help and support from the Department of Health, so that the employees of this Department can act in each of the segments,” said the president of UG “Vjera & nada” Nataša Damjanović, adding that intensive communication in this direction will be continued at the beginning of next month.
