Grant Agreements for Employment and Self-Employment Signed at the SEI Center in Brčko

As part of the Socio-Economic Inclusion Project in the Brčko District, a grant agreement for employment and self-employment was signed today at the SEI Center building in Brčko between the Brčko District Development Guarantee Fund and the grant beneficiaries.

“This year, ten new business ideas, or enterprises, have been supported, along with five continuing grants from last year. In total, we are signing fifteen agreements that will result in the creation of new jobs. What is particularly important is that the selected beneficiaries come from marginalized groups, including Roma, young people, women, and the long-term unemployed,” said Zlatan Musić, Head of the Unit for Implementation of Internationally Funded Projects at the Brčko District Development Guarantee Fund.

Some of the applicants who signed the agreements today emphasized how much this financial support means to them in taking their businesses to the next level.

“Since I own a hair salon, this financial support will allow me to expand my business, purchase additional cosmetic and hairdressing equipment and products. This is a unique opportunity for women and youth, as any kind of support in business is extremely valuable,” said Sadmira Rizvanović, one of the agreement signatories.

Vanesa Šečić, who opened a company dealing with the collection of secondary raw materials, emphasized that with this support, she will be able to provide better working conditions for her employees.

“My business involves the automation of private homes and commercial facilities, as well as the installation and maintenance of air conditioning systems. I believe that this type of business is not yet widespread in our area, and I see an opportunity for successful operations. With these funds, I will acquire professional equipment needed for my work,” said Vlatko Jakšić, one of the beneficiaries.

The Socio-Economic Inclusion Project in the Brčko District is funded by the Czech Development Agency and implemented by CARE International and the Brčko District Development Guarantee Fund.
