SEI Project Decision Board Meeting Held
The expert team of the SEI Project, coordinated by Project Manager Branislav Tanasijević, held an online meeting on Tuesday, 9 June 2026, with representatives of the Czech Development Agency and CARE International Czech Republic, headquartered in Prague. The purpose of the meeting was to inform the donor about the activities implemented and the work plan for the project “Socio-Economic Inclusion in Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina” until the end of October, when the project is scheduled to be completed.
In addition to Tanasijević, the meeting was attended by Anna Dostálová (Czech Development Agency), Ludmila Kucer (CARE International), Ljiljana Ostojić, Željko Novaković (SEI Centre), and Ivana Pirić (Development Guarantee Fund of Brčko District – DGFBD).
During the meeting, particular emphasis was placed on the fact that the SEI Project continues to strengthen its core objective – improving socio-economic opportunities in Brčko District through inclusive policies, while also empowering civil society organisations and supporting vulnerable population groups. It was especially highlighted that, thanks to the SEI Project, the first social enterprise in Brčko, named “Optimus”, was established, providing employment opportunities and inclusion for the Roma population.
Among other topics, the following project implementation activities were presented and discussed:
• regular meetings of the Executive and Advisory Boards for the purpose of monitoring implementation and decision-making;
• implementation of the project evaluation with a particular focus on: delivery of retraining programmes and acquisition of professional skills, interns co-financed by the SEI Project for a period of up to six months (a total of four interns this year), advocacy training especially in the area of self-employment, and assessment of achieved results in cooperation with RGFBD;
• implementation of the Project Communication Strategy, including development of visual identity, media promotion, and communication and visibility activities;
• implementation of information and promotional campaigns targeting vulnerable groups of citizens, publication of public calls, training programmes and grants, as well as ensuring continuous support to project beneficiaries through project implementation activities;
• equipping the SEI Centre, with a special focus on operational needs, removal of architectural barriers, and strengthening institutional capacities;
• updating and further development of the SEI Centre online platform in cooperation with RGFBD;
• support for innovative solutions, including green technologies and digitalisation processes, in line with project development priorities and available budget resources;
• advocacy activities aimed at promoting the SEI Project in cooperation with local communities and relevant institutions, with the goal of strengthening the project’s visibility and impact;
• organisation of the project’s final conference planned within the Brčko Economic Fair as the closing event for presenting results, exchanging experiences, and disseminating achievements.
The next meeting of the SEI Project Advisory Board was scheduled for 25 June 2026.
