Contracts for internship employment signed at SEI Centre in Brčko

In the premises of the SEI Centre in Brčko, contracts for the implementation of internship placements were signed as part of employment incentive measures, under the three-year project “Socio-Economic Inclusion in the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina”, funded by the Government of the Czech Republic through the Czech Development Agency, and implemented by the Development Guarantee Fund of the Brčko District and CARE International Balkans.

The contracts refer to the allocation of funds to employers, within which internships will be carried out by four individuals belonging to one of the project’s target groups – youth, women, persons with disabilities, and members of the Roma minority.

According to Branislav Tanasijević, project manager, this is a continuation of a successful programme that year after year delivers concrete and measurable results.

“We have secured funds for six months in the amount of 800 euros per month for each intern as a salary. The condition for a company to receive an intern is to provide financing for an additional six months of salary. Employers, if they consider it necessary, may also provide a higher monthly allowance for interns,” Tanasijević explained.

Group PR Manager STUDEN & CO Holding, Jelena Lugonja, emphasized that it is a socially responsible company that has been actively participating for years in internship employment programmes in the District.

“Our business group is employing one intern in this cycle, who will be part of the IT team. The intern will be provided with a mentor, additional training, and an opportunity for professional development. Last year, we employed five interns across three companies within the group, and all of them are now our permanent employees,” Lugonja stated.

Representative of the Development Guarantee Fund of the Brčko District of BiH, Boriša Damjanac, emphasized the importance of partnership between all involved stakeholders.

“Partnership and joint action between donors – the Government of the Czech Republic, CARE International and all partners at the District level – is extremely important. We are pleased to be part of this project. This is an opportunity for employers, media, and applicants to get to know each other and start concrete cooperation,” Damjanac said.
