CARE International and Youth Center “Vermont” sign Memorandum of understanding

Within the project “Socio-Economic Inclusion in Brčko District, BiH”, funded by the Government of the Czech Republic, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed today at the SEI Centre Brčko between CARE International Balkans and the Youth Center “Vermont”, confirming their commitment to establish the first social enterprise in Brčko.

CARE International Project Manager Branislav Tanasijević highlighted that this agreement will enable the Youth Center “Vermont”, which is a partner organization in the SEI project, to start the process of registering the social enterprise, and that concrete steps toward the first results are expected by the end of the year.

Director of the Youth Center “Vermont” Damir Radenković explained that the newly established enterprise will operate as a print shop employing two people. Special attention will be given to cooperation with associations working with young people and persons with developmental difficulties. The concept of such a social enterprise implies that it will not generate significant profit, but will primarily serve as a form of occupational activity, socialization, and employment opportunity for members of marginalized groups, while generating only symbolic income.
